The first annual UW-Superior observance of the National Day on Writing was held on October 20, 2009. Students, faculty, staff, and community members gathered at noon in the Rothwell Student Center snackbar to hear original compositions at an open mic. There were eleven readers whose genres included short stories, poems, and letters.
