What are your research interests?

"My research interests include communication processes in organizations and their impact on their stakeholders. I also enjoy studying and working with people from diverse cultures with the goal of promoting cross cultural communication competency. Although my research agenda is varied, they are all tied to how communication fosters individual and community development."

What's rewarding for you as a teacher?

"It has been really great to work with students, especially the online students. It is really cool to see how many students from different backgrounds, who are older, open up to having intellectual discussions and conversations about their life experiences. You have people rethinking their experiences, their thought processes or what they thought they knew, in class or in online discussions. That has been really great."

What's your favorite thing about UW-Superior?

"Getting involved. I've taken advantage of a lot of opportunities to grow as an intellectual and an academic. If you are a junior faculty at large institution, sometimes you are in the background for a long time before you emerge."
