Expect opportunities and take advantage of them when you can.

What three words would you use to describe UW-Superior?

"Dedicated. Engaging. Supportive."

What has your experience as a student been like?

"I've found that, as a student, the busier I've kept myself (while also striving for a balance between school, work, and personal life), I've been more successful in my studies. Having things to balance has helped me use my time more effectively."

Why did you choose UW-Superior?

"I came to campus as a freshman wanting to be a teacher, and knew that the Elementary Education program was well-known and respected. When I eventually changed my major and switched career paths, I had made so many professional connections and friends here, and I knew the support I had found could not be matched anywhere else."

What activities have you been involved in?

"When I was pursuing a teaching degree, I was secretary of The Future Teachers Association. As a full-time student, I held work study positions in the Writing Center and First Year Experience."

What are your career goals?

"I'm hoping to further my career in higher education by becoming an academic advisor. One of my favorite parts is seeing students have the 'light bulb' moment when they find a major or class that they're interested in!"

What's your favorite thing about UW-Superior?

"Because UW-Superior is a small campus, it's so easy to find people to connect with and activities/clubs/programs to be part of that match your interests. It's OK to be nervous to try new things, but try not to let that stop you."
