Social Work is a growing field nationally and in our region. We fill a critical need in our community as we support and empower the growth of individuals, families, groups and communities.
Our alumni work in many areas including K-12 schools, hospitals, tribal and county social services, mental health agencies, chemical dependency and other addictions treatment centers, and non-profit organizations. They work with children, older adults, families, people with differing abilities, and many others. They are located in small and large communities of diverse ethnicities and income levels.
Our alumni are eligible for licensure in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan as well as other states. We have been accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 1978, a requirement for professional licensure. All of our faculty maintain social work licensure and continue in community practice as well as teaching.
