Dr. Bill Simpson guest lectures at conference in Taiwan

Dr. Bill Simpson, an Associate Professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance, recently traveled to Taiwan to speak at the Exercise and Health Promotion Conference hosted by the National Taiwan Sport University.  He was representing the American College of Sports Medicine as the Chair of the Committee on Certification and Registry Boards. While there Dr. Simpson met with Exercise Science faculty to assist them in curriculum development for their undergraduate health and fitness program as well as their new graduate program in clinical exercise physiology. Facilities include an exercise biochemistry lab, an animal lab, as well as biomechanics and exercise physiology labs.

Dr. Simpson's presentations at the conference included "The Degreed Exercise Professional, Challenges for the Future" and "Diabetes and the Clinical Exercise Physiologist".  While there Dr. Simpson was guided by graduate students who took him around Taipei, including a visit to Taipei 101, the world's tallest building until 2013.  Inside they took a 35 second elevator ride to the 89th floor! The visit opens the door for a possible exchange between NTSU and UWS in terms of course development and hopefully students as well.
