Hannah Linehan

The people you meet at UW-Superior really influence your experience here because with a small campus, the connections are so much deeper.

Hannah Linehan’s parents knew UW-Superior would set her up for success because the personal attention in the small class sizes enhances learning. Getting a good education was number one for Hannah, and soccer was number two. That’s why she chose to Be Superior.

“I wasn’t planning on playing soccer here, but I’m so glad I got on the team,” Hannah said. “Soccer helped me get into campus life because I was a part of something.”

Knowing no one when coming to campus, Hannah was more than happy when she found her family with the soccer team. She lives with her teammates and is supported by the entire team because they’re all friends.

“The people you meet at UW-Superior really influence your experience here because with a small campus, the connections are so much deeper,” she said.

Hannah also found harmony and belonging in separate programs – Business and Biology. Luckily, she didn’t have to choose between the two.

“There are so many career opportunities in business and nutrition,” said Hannah. “I talked with Mr. Jeffrey Engstrom about my goals, and they made the perfect program for me with an Individually Designed major in Sports Management.”

Hannah looks forward to helping others and doing what she loves.

“I know now that my calling in life is to make others feel at home like I have here at UW-Superior and to look after others like this campus has for me,” she said.

Even though Superior is home, Hannah has seen and experienced the cultures at other campuses and is shocked at how people aren’t as friendly and helpful as everyone at [NAEM:SCHOOLNAME].

“Come here and experience the culture and the community,” she said. “UW-Superior is the heart of the Superior community. What other campus can say that most of the student body gets together on the beach just to hang out? Nowhere else.”

Hannah says she wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for the campus community and what the university has given her.

“UW-Superior offers you more than you could ask for when it comes to opportunities. There’s such room to grow,” said Hannah. “You can only go up from here.”

Hannah is working hard to get a great internship with the Minnesota Gophers or with the Smartwool brand. She wants to get even more experience to reach her goals in life.
