Sergei Bezroukov is a professor of mathematics and computer science at UW-Superior. Dr. Bezroukov teaches introductory computer science and programming courses as well as advanced courses in operating systems, networking, computer architectures, algorithm design and others.
UW-Superior's computer science program includes an emphasis in embedded systems design, which plays an important role in robotics, mobile and sensor technology, the Internet of Things (for example, smart homes) and more.
Bezroukov served as a faculty mentor to students who won a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship to build, program and refine a data-gathering weather station. He also worked with them on a voluntary project to design, build and test a motorized, computer-driven piece of laboratory equipment.
Besides his teaching duties, Dr. Bezroukov conducts research in the area of discrete mathematics and microcontroller applications.
He has been published in such peer-reviewed journals as Discrete Mathematics, Journal of Systems Architecture, Theoretical Computer Science and many others. He also publishes articles in radio and electronics magazines and online forums.
