“The UW-Superior University Recital Series is a wonderful concert series that consistently produces high-quality, professional performances, coupled with a warm and welcoming audience of community, campus and student patrons in the intimate 100-seat Webb Recital Hall,” said Fingalson, associate professor of voice and director of opera workshop at UW-Superior.
Fingalson, a soprano, will be accompanied by assistant professor of piano, Dr. Hector Landa. They will perform works by Alban Berg, Kurt Weill and John Carter. Those selections incorporate lush harmonies and beautiful melodies with arrangements of familiar hymns and spirituals.
“This is 20th century vocal music that I’ve always loved,” said Fingalson. “It’s a varied program with something for everyone – from broad picturesque musical gestures, to Broadway, to beloved spirituals.”
Webb Recital Hall is located in the Holden Fine and Applied Arts Center, which is located near the Catlin Avenue Entrance on the UW-Superior campus, 1805 Catlin Ave. For maps and directions to campus, visit www.uwsuper.edu/directions.
