Senior Year Experience

All Biology majors complete a Senior Year Experience as the culmination of their biology education.  Working in conjunction with a faculty sponsor, students select and complete one of the three options below.  Students are required to publicly present the results of their work, typically during the Department's Research Symposium near the end of each semester.

k_murchy_internshipInternships are supervised outside-of-school experiences students complete with approved employers in biological fields.  In recent years, our students have received internships with an impressive array of regional agencies, including Duluth Aquarium, University of Minnesota, US Environmental Protection Agency, St. Luke's Hospital, Wisconsin DNR, and the Lake Superior Research Institute to name a few.

Participation in an internship requires registration for BIOL 496 in cooperation with a faculty member.
