Katie Youngberg

You can really get your name out there, and it’s hands down the best thing about the Transportation and Logistics Management program.
Looking for a place to fit in, Katie Youngberg was given a recommendation by an advisor to transfer to UW-Superior. With her outgoing personality and love of the small town feel, Katie’s advisor knew she would fit right in.

“My advisor was right. I absolutely did like it,” Katie said. “After moving between programs, I found that the Transportation and Logistics Management program was a great opportunity.”

At first, Katie was hesitant about joining the program because she was a bit intimidated, but when she opened up, Katie knew it was where she belonged.

“I’ve grown as a person and learned that change is OK. I’ve also learned to try new things and to be open,” said Katie. “If I hadn’t been open, I wouldn’t have found out that I relate so much to transportation. It’s so different than where I thought I would be.”

Katie loved that she got to connect to the program even further with a similar minded group of students. Now, on top of leaving UW-Superior with a great education, she is leaving with great friendships.

“Everyone in the Transportation and Logistics Management major would hang out and study together. We always had each other’s backs, helped each other and wanted to see each other succeed,” she said. “Also, I’m a little different, a bit more rugged, but we like each other for the differences. These friendships made my college experience.”

Katie accepted an internship in Arkansas working for a trucking company by combining both of her majors in transportation and financials. She gained this internship through networking opportunities presented to her in the Transportation and Logistics Management program.

“You understand how to be professional and how to market yourself at the same time. In one year, I met so many people at meetings, seminars and symposiums,” she said. “You can really get your name out there, and it’s hands down the best thing about the Transportation and Logistics Management program.”
