The ELCI program at the University of Minnesota-Duluth

Students who have been conditionally admitted to UW-Superior enroll in the ELCI program at the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD), approximately 20 minutes from UW-Superior by car. The ELCI program offers an intensive English program of 20 hours of instruction per week in reading, writing, listening and speaking, and grammar. The programs offers appropriate levels, each one semester long, ranging from basic up to the pre-university level. When students enroll at ELCI, they take a placement exam to determine which level of instruction is appropriate.

ELCI students have many opportunities to interact with American students because they can live in the UMD residence halls, eat in the campus dining hall, use the recreational and library facilities, and participate in university student activities. There are also opportunities to visit UW-Superior while at ELCI and participate in UW-Superior events.

ECLI Accreditation

ELCI is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), according to the CEA standards.
