With a Music Education major, you will earn a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Certification for licensure requires completion of the Instruction minor/required teacher certification coursework, and one semester of student teaching.

If you currently hold a degree and are interested in teaching, UW-Superior offers licensure programs that apply your prior coursework. For more information, contact admissions@uwsuper.edu.

While our programs are designed to align with Wisconsin state licensure requirements, many students apply for licenses in other states, such as Michigan and Minnesota. Students are encouraged to check with their state’s Department of Education to determine if there are additional requirements.
