About the Superior Connection

Lake Superior College and the University of Wisconsin-Superior are pleased to announce a new formal partnership, called Superior Connection, to further ease the transfer process between the two institutions.

The institutions have signed a new Direct Transfer Agreement, outlining a clear path for students to earn a 60-credit Associate of Arts degree at Lake Superior College before transferring to UW-Superior to earn a Bachelor's Degree. Students can choose an emphasis from available online options: Elementary Education, Sustainable Management, Health and Wellness Management, and all other online transfer programs appropriate to transfer to UW-Superior (Individually Designed, Exercise Science, Communicating Arts).

In addition to the direct transfer agreement, UW-Superior and Lake Superior College have also signed a Reverse Transfer Agreement, which will allow students to earn an Associate Degree by combining their credits earned at Lake Superior College with those earned at UW-Superior. Under the terms of the reverse transfer agreement, students who have earned at least 15 credits at Lake Superior College and at least 45 credits at UW-Superior can apply for an Associate Degree using credits earned at UW-Superior. Students who transfer from Lake Superior College prior to earning enough credits for an Associate Degree will therefore be able to add that important degree to their resume upon completing enough credits at UW-Superior.

Program Description

The following AA degree plan is designed from direct equivalencies only – classes that transfer directly from LSC to UW-Superior – that meet all MNSCU AA/MNTC degree requirements, while seamlessly meeting UW-Superior’s Bachelor program prerequisites. Students admitted into this AA degree program will be guaranteed admission to UW-Superior if they meet a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (*3.0 for Elementary Education), upon submission of application and official transcript.

* Admission to the Teacher’s Education Program at UW-Superior requires additional steps beyond general admission to the university. Please consult the Educational Leadership Department for a summary of admissions requirements.
