Lupul was the anchor on the blue line during his time with the Yellowjacket Men's hockey team, and used a sparkling freshman season to help the Yellowjackets win the 2002 NCAA Championship. Lupul could take over a game at any time and was known as one of the toughest and best defensemen in the nation.
His career yielded four All-WIAC selections, three All-NCHA picks and two AHCA All-American nods. Lupul also went onto a lengthy professional career after graduation.
