Donald Hartlund of Walnut Creek, Calif., is one of the all-time great Yellowjacket basketball players. He enters the Hall of Fame as the second-leading scorer in team history with 1,465 points.
Mr. Hartlund played for the Yellowjackets from 1965 to 1969, and was noted for being an outstanding player both offensively and defensively. He was named team captain and Most Valuable Player for the 1967-68 and 1968-69 seasons.
He led the conference in points scored per game during the 1968-69 season, and that year was named to the All-Conference team and received Honorable Mention for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-District team.
After graduating, Mr. Hartlund was a member for two seasons of the U.S. Navy's Pacific Basketball team, playing with and against Division I competition. He became a successful businessman, rising to the position of vice president of Deibert Associates, the largest seafood brokerage company in northern California.
