Fahl was the model of consistency for the Yellowjackets during his four-year hockey career. Although he never brought home any major awards, Fahl was always among the top scorers for the Yellowjackets and helped his teams reach four final fours. Fahl is one of ten players in school history to play in four consecutive NCAA Final Four tournaments. 

A transfer from Northern Michigan University, Fahl scored a hat trick in the NCHA final, including the game-winning goal in overtime against Bemidji State as a freshman.
