Sobb spent two seasons with the Yellowjackets following a pair of campaigns at the University of Denver. Sobb played in two NCAA Final Fours and was a team captain as a senior in 1994-95. That senior season was one for the ages, as Sobb scored 20 goals and 53 points on his way to All-WSUC, All-NCHA, and AHCA All-American honors. Sobb was also chosen to play in the 1995 East/West Shrine game, a rarity for NCAA Division III players.
