Oluf "Ole" Haugsrud was a Superior businessman who owned the Duluth Eskimos, an early professional football team that was part of the foundation of today's National Football League. Mr. Haugsrud later became a part owner of the Minnesota Vikings NFL franchise.

Among his many community activities, Mr. Haugsrud served on the UW-Superior Foundation Board of Directors from 1967 to 1976. UW-Superior's football stadium was named Ole Haugsrud Memorial Stadium in 1954.
