The 2004 UW-Superior softball team was a dynamic combination of offense and pitching that rode a 13-game winning streak to a third place finish in the WIAC regular season standings and, ultimately, the WIAC playoff championship. The tournament victory earned the Yellowjackets a berth in the NCAA regional tournament, where they won a pair of games, advancing further into NCAA play than any softball team in UW-Superior history.

Offensively, the Yellowjackets led the WIAC in batting average (.333), slugging percentage (.454), on-base percentage (.380), runs (250), hits (421), runs batted in (221), triples (17), total bases (575) sacrifice flies (11) and at-bats (1266).

The Yellowjackets also topped the WIAC in several pitching categories, including lowest earned run average (1.40), wins (34), fewest losses (10), fewest runs allowed (96), fewest earned runs allowed (62), fewest walks allowed (52), fewest doubles allowed (27), fewest triples allowed (4), fewest home runs allowed (4), and fewest wild pitches (11).

The well-rounded Yellowjackets were also the top fielding team in the WIAC in 2004, posting a team fielding percentage of .959.
