Location: Swenson Hall 1013

My First Honey Bees is the second of a series of five, FREE, three-hour workshops on how to raise and care for honey bees. Taught by UWS Apiary Manager and Professor of Biology Dr. Edward Burkett, the Beekeeping 102 Workshop is designed to teach first year beekeepers how to care for their NEW honey bees. Topics to be covered include intermediate honey bee biology, packages vs nucs, installing a package or nuc of bees, standard hive inspections, and basic spring hive management. The workshop will conclude with a question and answer session. The Beekeeping 102 Workshop targets first year beekeepers that have previously completed the introductory Beekeeping 101 Workshop, but everyone interested in honey bees is welcome to attend.

The Beekeeping 102 Workshop is FREE and open to the general public. Registration is required.
