CLIC -Inclusivity Podcast Club This Land

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2020, 4 - 5:30 PM

The UW-Superior Markwood Center for Learning, Innovation and Collaboration (CLIC) is proud to sponsor the Global Awareness and Inclusivity High Impact Practice Community of Practice “Podcast Club”.

Historically, the CoP has coordinated a book club each year. This year, we invite you to attend the following Podcast Club.

Podcast Info: This Land, a 9-series podcast from Crooked Media and hosted by Rebecca Nagle.

Description: “ An 1839 assassination of a Cherokee leader. A 1999 small town murder. Two crimes collide in a Supreme Court case that will decide the fate of one man and nearly half of the land in Oklahoma. Hosted by Rebecca Nagle, Oklahoma journalist and citizen of Cherokee Nation, This Land traces how a cut and dry homicide opened up an investigation into the treaty rights of five Native American tribes. Tune in to Crooked Media's 8-episode series to find out how this unique case could result in the largest restoration of tribal land in U.S. history.” Each episode is approximately 30-40 minutes long.

We will meet via zoom each Thursday in October from 4 - 5:30 p.m. to discuss 2 episodes:

  • October 1st (episodes 1 and 2)
  • October 8th (episodes 3 & 4)
  • October 15th (episodes 5 & 6)
  • October 22nd (episodes 7 & 8 & The Ruling)

No registration is required. Everyone is welcome! Students, community members, staff, faculty….everyone!
