Location: Yellowjacket Union Room 203

Learn how you can help your clients or patients make the positive behavior changes that will improve their lives

Use the empathetic, collaborative, positive style of Motivational Interviewing (MI) to improve your connection with clients and encourage lasting change. Help them discover their own reasons and determination to change. In this training by nationally recognized trainer Laura Saunders, you will get the most up-to-date research on effective use of MI and you will learn to use the tools of MI in your own work.

Motivational interviewing will be presented as a guiding style of communication and contrasted with other methods of behavior change counseling. Through discussion, videos and experiential exercises, you will begin developing your own motivational interviewing practice.
