Session 2:  Using structured reminiscence and life review to increase social connections.

There are many kinds of reminiscence – some much more helpful than others! Learn how you can structure a reminiscence or life review session to bring the greatest value to the reminiscer. Learn how you can use reminiscence with individuals or groups to build meaningful connections and identify person-centered interventions that will help reduce isolation and loneliness.<BR>Workshop Objectives<BR>After completion of the presentation, participants will be able to:<BR>1. Identify the different types of reminiscence utilized in practice and research.<BR>2. Discuss the use of reminiscence as an evidence-based intervention to reduce loneliness and isolation. <BR>3. Identify strategies that will promote successful and safe reminiscence sessions with patients and families.<BR>4. Discuss the experience of reminiscing and active listening after role-playing activities. <BR>5. Apply recommendations to own practice and research situations.
