Virtual Adult Mental Health First Aid

TUESDAY, MAY 11, 2021, 9 AM - 3:30 PM

Adult Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.

Trainings are offered through the Wisconsin Rural Opioid and Stimulant Engagement (WiROSE), funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to address opioid and stimulant prevention, intervention, and recovery. WiROSE is a project of the Extension Health and Well-being Institute.

Participants must complete a 2-hour, self-paced online class, and then participate in one of the 6-hour, Instructor-led Zoom sessions. Details on the 2-hour, self-paced online class will be sent 1-week prior to the session date.

Participants who complete the full 8-hour training and final evaluation will receive a Certificate from the National Council for Behavioral Health demonstrating completion of the 8-hour course and national certification.

This opportunity is FREE ($170 value) for UW-Superior faculty and staff (limit 30 per session). This programming is made possible through the generous support of UW-Superior's Center for Continuing Education and UW-Madison's Division of Extension.
