Leadership Workshops

The Inner and Outer Work of Leadership

Date: 2/8, 2/10, 2/15, 2/17/2021 | Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | $298, $258 certificate enrollee

Leadership is more than being able to make decision or a plan. You must be aware and present for yourself and others, pay attention to your intentions, choices, and impacts. In this workshop, you will learn how to pay attention to the narratives in your mind and be able to use that to inspire others and yourself to be authentic. We will discuss the definition of leadership as the activation of energy and the power of positively influencing others. We will practice listening first and coming to the right questions.  We will discuss how to create space for others to act and to ask how our skills will work to benefit others. All of us can make a difference, no matter what our roles or what we think we’re capable of.

Crisis Communications 101: How to Prepare for the Unexpected

Building Trust

Date: 3/1 & 3/3/2021 | Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | $149, $129 certificate enrollee

Trust is fragile—it is easily broken and is difficult to regain.  Trying to lead a team without trust is like driving a car without fuel.  Leaders and teams that have trust produce more efficient interactions, display high levels of innovation, and deliver quality results.  Without trust, communication falters, productivity drops, and turnover increases.

In this session we will define trust and distrust and discuss implications of both in the workplace.  Participants will learn about behaviors that build trust and examine the strength of their own trust behaviors.  We will take a deep dive into areas where leaders often break trust and learn how you can avoid some of the common pitfalls.  Finally, ways to rebuild trust will be explored.

At the end of this session, participants will walk away with actionable steps they can immediately use to strengthen and/or rebuild trust in the workplace.

Effective Communication

Date: 4/5 & 4/7/2021 | Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | $149, $129 certificate enrollee

Good communication is the very life energy of leadership. Take away communication, and leadership withers and dies. Leaders can accomplish nothing without clear, compelling, credible communication that informs, influences, inspires, and involves people.  The best leaders of today understand the importance of effective communication.  In this workshop you will learn to:

  • Actively listen to other points of view, and remain open to feedback and innovation
  • Communicate clearly and succinctly to all levels of your organization
  • Apply the “what/where/when/how/why” approach to mindful communication
  • Give and receive feedback effectively
  • Practice assertive communication

Strategic and Adaptive Leadership

Date: 5/10 & 5/12/2021 | Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | $149, $129 certificate enrollee

Leadership today requires seizing new opportunities, weighing new perspectives, controlling and managing new threats, and adapting to new workplace challenges ...all in compressed time frames.  It isn't enough to possess the competencies of a decade ago -- vision, integrity, communications, decision making, interpersonal skills, problem solving, trust building -- the list goes on.   You need these competencies, and more.

There is an evolving workforce and culture.  The competitive marketplace requires re-evaluating your organizations' strengths and talents.  Unexpected opportunities as well as unexpected threats require a heightened level of strategizing and risk taking.  Hiring the best team often means redesigning open positions to meet ever-changing needs.

Ongoing leadership development has never been more important.  If you think the leadership course you enrolled in several years ago was enough, consider the technological advances, the speed of distribution, the number of new products, the preferences of your workforce - and significantly ...the new businesses springing up and the business failures that are happening today.

Join the conversation about Strategic and Adaptive Leadership.  We will discuss the balance between stability and agility, between flexibility and the non-negotiables.

We will encourage (instill with courage) your abilities and ask you to re-think your thinking about Leadership in 2020.

Organizational Culture & Change

Date: 6/7 & 6/9/2021 | Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | $149, $129 certificate enrollee

Organizational culture can be thought of as an invisible force that influences behavior and decision making at all levels, and it can make or break a change initiative. Leaders who understand culture and its impact on the change process are better positioned to help their organizations respond to and drive changes in the internal and external environment and ensure long-term success. In this workshop, we will explore the elements of culture and its role in change as well as strategies for proactively leading change and engaging others throughout the process.
