Beekeeping 102: Let's Talk Bees is the second of a series of five, three-hour workshops on how to raise and care for honey bees.
Taught by UW-Superior Apiary Manager Dr. Edward Burkett, Beekeeping 102 is designed to teach first-year beekeepers how to care for new honey bees. Topics covered include honey bee biology, installing packages and hiving nucs, first-year spring and early summer hive management, how to perform a hive inspection, honey bee diseases and parasites, swarm prevention and a Q-and-A session.
The Beekeeping 102 Workshop targets first-year beekeepers that have previously completed an introductory beekeeping workshop, but second-year beekeepers will also benefit. This workshop is a must for the beginning beekeeper.
This workshop has seating for 30 adult participants and is free and open to the public. Registration is required and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
