This workshop is designed for individuals in the human resource field who have limited formal training in labor management relations. Whether you are in a union or non-union environment, you will benefit from the topics covered. You will learn how you can save money for your organization over time through attentive management practices, standardization, wise decision-making, and an ongoing communication policy.

  • Identify fundamental differences between traditional and interest-based approaches to negotiation and union/management problem-solving
  • Evaluate when these or other methods may be most appropriate for solving disputes or disagreements
  • Discuss emerging labor management issues, and the impact of state and federal regulatory trends
  • Prepare recommendations for pending mock grievances, arbitration, and union/managment labor contract negotiations
