Child Life (EC 470)

Seminar course for students pursuing the Child Life certificate. Theoretical foundations of Child Life practice, the therapeutic relationship, family care, assessment and documentation are covered in depth in this course. Attention is given to understanding children in the context of medical issues as they arise in hospital settings, such as end of life care, chronic disease and emergency care. 3 Credits. This course is taught by a Certified Child Life Specialist and is designed to cover all six domains as required for certification through the Association of Child Life Professionals.
