Branding: Crafting Your Identity

Date: 9/15 & 9/17/2020 | Time: 5 - 6:30 p.m.

What makes a brand memorable? What does your brand say about who you are? What impression is left with a customer after interacting with your brand? Mike Smisek and Stephanie Peterson from Sek Design Studio will help to guide you through the process of understanding your identity so that you can authentically speak to and connect with an audience who means the most to your business. Even without a brand, people will perceive you a certain way - it’s best to be deliberate about how the pieces of your visual communication are crafted.

Your Website & Search Engine Optimization

Date: 9/23/2020 | Time: 5 - 8 p.m.

Your website is one of your biggest marketing tools to provide information about your business. Customers use search engines like Google to find you and if you are not on the first page of the search you are already at a big disadvantage. This workshop will help you look at your website in a different way. Providing information is great but providing the right information so that it is optimized for search engines will help improve your searchability. Molly Solberg of MAS Marketing will teach you to understand search engine optimization (SEO) and how to use it effectively. You will also learn how to use Google Analytics to effectively determine how what you implemented has improved your website traffic.

Using Social Media Effectively

Date: 9/29 & 10/1/2020 | Time: 5 - 6:30 p.m.

Social media connects your business to people so that you can create a following. Providing stories, promotions, pictures, and other information effectively on different social media platforms will help customers understand who you are and what you do while letting them into your business in a different way. In this workshop you will learn how to use the different social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, with an emphasis on Facebook and Instagram. You will learn the  foundations of these platforms, how they work and the best practices for each. Even if you are familiar with these social media platforms there are always something new to learn or a trick you could find useful. Jane Pederson, the marketing manager at Glensheen Mansion will share her knowledge with you.

Storytelling for Your Business

Engaging with your customers about your business helps draw them in and makes them feel more connected to your business. Storytelling can be inspiring, informational, exciting, motivational and more. In this workshop you will learn how to write effective stories for your business. Learn what your story should be, where should you share these stories, which social media platforms will work best to convey your message, and how to correspond when people inquire about the story. Daisy Quaker of Daisy Digital will show you how storytelling can connect you with your customers and make a difference.

Getting Found Locally: Google My Business

Getting found locally stretches farther than just word of mouth. With customers searching more than ever online for goods and services the best way to be found is to be found online. Google is the most popular search engine used throughout the country and in this workshop, you will learn how to get found locally on Google. You will learn strategies from Molly Solberg of MAS Marketing on how to use Google My Business to reach the local customer base you desire.

In this workshop, Michael Smisek of Sek Design Studio will provide an overview of basic design elements such as color theory, layout, composition, typography features, image integration so you can create intentional marketing for your business.

Social media platforms all have a form of paid advertising. It is a great tool to send a message to your audience, but it can also be used to benefit your business in ways you may not have thought of. In this workshop you will learn how to use paid social media advertising to expand your business and use your money effectively. You will learn from Jane Pederson, Marketing Manager from Glensheen Mansion as she shares her social media savvy on paid social media advertising and how it can best serve your business.

DIY Video that Works

Date: 11/4/2020 | Time: 5 - 8 p.m.

Videos are one of the most popular forms of shared media. Most people would rather watch a video than read something and social media platforms have taken notice. Videos have been increasing in their engagement rates throughout these platforms and we want to help you be able to develop your own DIY videos and not worry about having to hire a videographer. In this workshop you will learn about the many apps, tools, and services available that can help you create high quality videos without needing experience. Many of these videos you can create right on your phone and still provide a quality visual experience without working about buying a bunch of equipment. Daisy Quaker from Daisy Digital will show you how to break in to the DIY video world and show you why videos work so effectively.

Bringing it all together! Now that we've covered the various platforms and tools available, how do you translate that into campaigns that win across platforms? How do you figure out what levers to pull? What to measure? And how to continually optimize your campaigns so you get better and better results? In this workshop, Daisy Quaker from Daisy Digital will walk you through how to create a marketing campaign that gets you business or non-profit noticed. You will get to jump into the shoes of an experienced digital marketer and translate your ideas into action!
