Organizational Leadership Certificate

Do you want to demonstrate leadership? Most of us do, especially in the context of working within an organization. Leadership isn't just a situational need; our work is what happens in all the moments. Leadership doesn't simply appear when the script announces it does: it is the hard work of showing up even when we're not required to, of seeing what's possible when few are willing to believe. Applying the competencies of positive leadership will strengthen your effectiveness in the workplace as well as within other settings. We will explore what effective leadership is (and is not), and begin developing capacities that affect the success of our teams. You will learn key elements of establishing clear objectives, working effectively with others, accountability, modeling progress, tapping your power to create positive change, and more.

Organizational Leadership Workshops Expand All

The Inner and Outer Work of Leadership

Date: 2/2/2021 & 2/3/2021 | Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Leadership is more than being able to make decision or a plan. You must be aware and present for yourself and others, pay attention to your intentions, choices, and impacts. In this workshop, you will learn how to pay attention to the narratives in your mind and be able to use that to inspire others and yourself to be authentic. We will discuss the definition of leadership as the activation of energy and the power of positively influencing others. We will practice listening first and coming to the right questions.  We will discuss how to create space for others to act and to ask how our skills will work to benefit others. All of us can make a difference, no matter what our roles or what we think we’re capable of.

Building Trust

Date: 3/3/2021 | Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Trust is fragile—it is easily broken and is difficult to regain.  Trying to lead a team without trust is like driving a car without fuel.  Leaders and teams that have trust produce more efficient interactions, display high levels of innovation, and deliver quality results.  Without trust, communication falters, productivity drops, and turnover increases.

In this session we will define trust and distrust and discuss implications of both in the workplace.  Participants will learn about behaviors that build trust and examine the strength of their own trust behaviors.  We will take a deep dive into areas where leaders often break trust and learn how you can avoid some of the common pitfalls.  Finally, ways to rebuild trust will be explored.

At the end of this session, participants will walk away with actionable steps they can immediately use to strengthen and/or rebuild trust in the workplace.

Effective Communication

Date: 4/7/2021 | Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

When someone is speaking, are you fully listening and taking in what they are saying? Or are you waiting to respond? In this workshop, we will learn about deep listening; giving and receiving feedback; clarity; defining expectations; communication styles; and developing assertiveness, transparency, and honesty. You will learn to assess what types of communication work best for those you are working with in order to be a more effective communicator.

Strategic and Adaptive Leadership

Date: 5/5/2021 | Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Flexibility and being able to adapt are key to a leader’s success. You must be able to begin with the end in mind, yet adapt as needed to accommodate changing circumstances. In this workshop, you will learn how to set a strategic direction with buy in from your team; adjust leadership styles to meet the needs of the individual and the situation; reconcile the competing needs for stability and agility; balance the need for flexibility with non-negotiables, and more.

Organizational Culture & Change

Date: 6/2/2021 | Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Organizational culture can be thought of as an invisible force that influences behavior and decision making at all levels, and it can make or break a change initiative. Leaders who understand culture and its impact on the change process are better positioned to help their organizations respond to and drive changes in the internal and external environment and ensure long-term success. In this workshop, we will explore the elements of culture and its role in change as well as strategies for proactively leading change and engaging others throughout the process.
