About CETL

CETL Mission Statement:

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) provides the campus community with services, resources and support to foster meaningful student learning, quality teaching, and supportive advising within a liberal arts tradition.

CETL believes that teaching and learning is the role of all campus members.

CETL's Key Themes:

  1. To foster campus dialogue and collaboration about teaching, learning and student engagement; and
  2. To encourage interdisciplinary collaboration across curricular and co-curricular settings; and
  3. To support the campus community to develop self-reflective practices about teaching and learning; and
  4. To advance the effective utilization and innovation of instructional technology for teaching and learning; and
  5. To provide opportunities for the campus community to learn about the institution, its mission and its teaching and learning practices.

Areas of Priority for CETL programs and projects:

  • Coordination of teaching and learning activities in collaboration with campus units;
  • Coordination with UW System Office of Professional and Instructional Development (OPID) and the UW System Learning Technology Development Council (LTDC);
  • Support for the integration of technologies for teaching and learning into campus courses and programs;
  • Providing conference and learning opportunities for educators on the campus.
