Adjunct & Instructional Acad Staff Orientation Session

When: Aug 25, 2014 12:00 AM
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) coordinates several optional opportunities for instructional staff prior to the start of classes each Fall, to help prepare and equip you for a successful experience at UW-Superior.

Fifteen adjunct instructors have signed up to enjoy a delicious dinner at the Adjunct Orientation Session. No further reservations can be accepted at this time. The session will be held Monday, August 25 from 5:00-9:30 p.m. in Swenson Hall Room 3003. This session will explore key information on preparing and designing a class, broad overview information about UW-Superior and other resources that can help you have a great experience with our students. We will include something for the new adjunct instructor as well as the seasoned experienced adjunct and instructional academic staff member. The orientation is highly recommended for all adjunct and academic staff instructors for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Another opportunity for adjunct and academic staff as well as faculty is the Learn@UWSuperior Training that was held August 20 and 21, 2014. Fourteen faculty and staff attended the training to assist them in using our campus course management system (Learn@UWSuperior). Another session will be scheduled in late September or early October for those who were not able to attend this pre-semester training session. Be watching for a notice in the Staff Digest.

Stacy Leno and Tom Tu are our experienced educator/trainers on using D2L. You will walk away from this session knowing how to access, design and use our Learn@UWSuperior system for effective teaching and learning with your students. We do highly recommend that you take this training session, particularly if you are not familiar with the course management systems.

Also plan to attend the All Campus Welcome on Tuesday August 26, the Faculty and Staff Enhancement Day eventson Wednesday August 27, and other events throughout the week of August 25 - 29, as highlighted in the Fall 2014 Welcome Week Schedule emailed from the Provost's Office.
