Welcome and Orientation Series for Faculty and Long-Term Instructional Academic Staff

The Markwood Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning provides a warm welcome, orientation, and training to new faculty and long-term instructional staff. The semester long orientation features a series of campus informational sessions and visiting presenters from across our campus community who introduce their departments/programs and share their expertise with the common goal of promoting excellence in teaching and learning.

Topics throughout the series covered may include:

  • Introduction to the campus and faculty support services,
  • Student demographics and learning outcomes
  • Student support services
  • Liberal education initiatives and the liberal arts mission,
  • Quality teaching and learning,
  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Assessment,
  • Additional topics related to new faculty and long-term instructional staff.

Welcome and Orientation Series for Adjunct Instructors

To support success for all adjunct instructors (new and returning), the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning offers a welcome session at the start of each semester specific to their contributing role within the campus community.

All new and returning faculty and instructors are welcome and encouraged to attend CETL programming, workshops & events throughout the year.
