As a native Duluthian, Carly is excited to be back home in the twin ports. She loves to spend her free time exploring the outdoors during all seasons, traveling to far-away places (Kenya and Thailand are her favorites so far!) and relaxing at her family's cabin. As a young professional, she is looking forward to getting involved with local organizations and helping to shape the future of her community.

Professional Background

At the Center for Community Engaged Learning, Carly works alongside campus and community partners to coordinate existing community-based initiatives and develop programming that connects people with diverse talents and expertise across the region to creatively address community needs collaboratively.   Previously, she was the program director at the Park County Community Foundation in Livingston, Montana. There she convened groups to create strategic partnerships based on key community needs, developed and implemented effective programming for nonprofits and managed all aspects of the Foundation’s grant and scholarship programs. Prior to her time at the Community Foundation, she worked with the American Red Cross in Madison, WI where she led the successful implementation of a national volunteer emergency blood transportation program and managed over 100 volunteers across Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa.
