Academic background:

Kimberly K. Kelly was born in Minnesota and raised in Alaska. She received a B.S. in English: Creative Writing from Northern Arizona University and a M.A. in Communications from University of Wisconsin- Superior, where she is the campus's Testing Coordinator. Ms. Kelly has been writing novels, children's books, and historical fiction since 1985, has lived in three countries, travels widely, and lives in with her partner Reed, near their four grown children.

Research interests:

In addition to assisting students with academic challenges, particularly those who are considered at-risk, she is interested in trends and developments in the areas of disability support services, testing accommodations, and national standardized testing.

Non-academic background:

Kim enjoys all aspects of domestic and International travel, all genres of creative writing, and maintaining life balance through exercise and quiet time.

Area of knowledge:

Helping students achieve their educational goals, particularly when they are experiencing academic difficulties and/or have medical disabilities.

Recent accomplishments:

As the Testing Services Coordinator, I implement daily test administration duties, proctor exams for students registered with Disability Support Services, coordinate the SAT, ACT, and Regional Placement Testing, maintain the confidentiality of test takers’ information and Instructors’ course materials, and uphold the integrity of the UW-Superior Testing Center. In addition, I support the disability services’ intake process, the TRiO Student Support Services program, and support early warning alerts.
