Michael enjoys our great outdoor offerings in the local area in his free time. Michael currently lives in Superior with his wife Brenda. His daughter, Hollie, also currently resides in Superior. Daughter, Tracy, and son-in-law, Matthew Clark (US Navy retired from active duty, gunners mate/chief petty officer) , live in Johnson City, TN, where Matthew is now a Barber and Tracy works at a local county library. Granddaughter, Charistin, is currently employed as a meterologist at WOAY-TV in Oak Hill, WV. 

Professional Background

In his view, an essential part of the University experience is a safe place to study or teach.  Michael Bodin hopes to help our Campus Safety Office provide a good and safe environment for all to enjoy their time spent at our UW-Superior campus.

Research Interests

After serving 24 years as a Campus Security Officer, Michael enjoys interacting with everyone that he comes into contact with on a daily basis, or occasionally, and hopes that our interactions help to teach personal safety and to learn from others their concerns.

Served honorably for 20+ years on active duty in the United States Navy.

Last as an STGC(SW) - Surface Sonar Technician Chief Petty Officer (Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist) (E-7) trained, tried, and initiated by my (CPO / SCPO / MCPO) peers at Naval Station Mayport, FL onboard the USS Luce (DDG-38) in September 1986.  

Retired honorably from active duty in January 1996.

  • USS Carr (FFG-53) - Home Port: Charleston, SC & Norfolk, VA
