Nathan Anderson Nathan Anderson
Senior Lecturer, Physics
office. Barstow Hall 207B
University of Wisconsin-Superior

Most recent degrees:

2009 - Master of Science (M.S.) - Secondary Science Educations - Illinois Institute of Technology

2003 - Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) – Physics - St. Olaf College

Academic background:

I taught high school physics and general science for over ten years before coming to UW-Superior to lecture.  I have found that most students learn better when they are involved, enjoying themselves and comfortable.  My goal is to help students learn and be involved in the content so students can apply it to everything around them.  I encourage a relaxed atmosphere where students are welcome and I hope to show how much I love physics and astronomy.

Non-academic background:

I enjoy spending time with family, educating myself with books and podcasts, and enjoying the natural landscape the area provides.  I played lacrosse in college before coaching boys lacrosse at the high school level.  Now, I am involved in getting young players into the sport in the Twin Ports.  I also enjoy craft beer and am an active homebrewer, attempting to educate others about beer and the process of making beer.

Areas of knowledge:

Physics, physical science, & astronomy

Recent accomplishments:

SoTL Homegrown Research 2017- "Do video lectures improve student assessment scores for distance learning students?"
