Academic background:
Dr. Praopan Pratoomchat received her Bachelor and Master in Economics from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. She earned Master of Science and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Utah. Her Ph.D. dissertation was on the comparison of the Post-Keynesain and Neo-classical growth models on the East Asian Economies. She wants to bring the diverse perspectives of Economic theories and application to the students.
Research interests:
Her main research interest are Economic growth, East Asian Economies, China and global economy, Class conflicts, and International Trade and Development. Her recent working papers are on China's middle class, Homelessness and housing price in the U.S., and the study on High school graduation rates in the Midwest of the U.S.
Non-academic interests:
In her free time, she likes running and hope to finish her second and third marathons in 2018. She also enjoys baking from the international recipes.
