Discrete Mathematics: discrete extremal problems like various isoperimetric problems on graphs and their immediate applications to estimating graph bandwidth, cutwidth, wirelength, etc., extremal poset problems like Macaulay posets, chain decomposition, Sperner theory. Electrical Engineering in what concerns design of Embedded Systems, microcontroller hardware and firmware, Wireless Communications (WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.), Internet of Things (IoT).

Recent accomplishments:

Sergei has worked in this area for about 40 years, has 60 publications in professional journals, and has given invited talks on numerous conferences. He has also received at least 5 training events per year within the past decade, published 121 articles in electronics magazines, and 50+ online publications.
