Dr. Thomas Hamilton completed a Doctor of Musical Arts in Organ Performance and Literature at the University of Iowa in December of 2014. While at Iowa, he was a student of Delbert D. Disselhorst and played continuo in the University Chamber Orchestra. Prior to that, Dr. Hamilton received his Master of Sacred Music degree from Luther Seminary in St. Paul where he studied church music with Paul Westermeyer at the seminary, organ and improvisation with John Ferguson, and choral conducting under Anton Armstrong, both of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. He joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin – Superior as Senior Lecturer in Organ in the fall of 2014. He also serves as Director of Music at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Duluth where he plays the organ, directs the choirs, and oversees the entire music program of the church.

Dr. Hamilton is an experienced church musician and has performed throughout the Midwest in recitals and hymn festivals. He is active in the Arrowhead Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and is former dean of the Chippewa Valley (Eau Claire) Chapter. He enjoys spending time with his three adult children and being in the north woods.
