Greetings! I enjoy being part of the University of Wisconsin-Superior team. My role involves both advising students and traveling to share distance learning information with prospective students.
I returned to Superior in 2013 after being away from my hometown for 15 years. In 1996, I received my Master of Science in Education (M.S.E.) Degree in Guidance and Counseling from UW-Superior. Since then, I have lived in five other states: Ohio, Arizona, South Dakota, Nevada and California. I have taught psychology, sociology and college success courses in higher education. I also enjoyed part of my career as a school counselor. I truly believe the effort I put into getting my education was a very wise investment.
Here's a question I ask myself: Where am I now and where do I want to be? It is a great feeling to be able to say I have reached another goal. Thank you, UWS, for the great educational experience!
While moving and raising a family I have learned people can do things they never thought possible. I have twins in college (I went to graduate school full time when they were babies) and two younger children. Needless to say, life can be busy.
Remember ATTITUDE is everything! Here are some quotes that inspired me and helped me to keep moving forward.·
- When life threw change at me: "I'm not giving up, I'm starting over."·
- When I needed to stay on track: "I am too positive to be doubtful, too optimistic to be fearful and too determined to be defeated."·
- When I worried: "Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive about what could go right."
My advice to students is to set your goals and keep working toward where you want to be. If I can do it, so can you!
I look forward to working with you,
