I didn’t agree with the move and now I am even more upset because they used the money to only move the career services over here. I think this space is being “wasted” and we really need to move something in there that would be a better use of the space. You may disagree with me (and I respect that), but if you do agree with me, please send an e-mail to Faith in support of such a move (just so you are aware, I have spoken to members of the advisement office and they are in favor of it). Peace Haji From: Dokhanchi,Khalil Sent: Thursday, May 01, 2014 1:30 PM To: Hensrud,Faith C Subject: RE: relocation of the IT help desk Hi Faith: I am concerned that only Career Services has moved to the first floor of Swenson Hall. I really think that this is not an optimal outcome. I would like you to consider moving advising offices into this location. I have heard over the years that the “undecided” students are the largest portion of our student body and how advising is essential. Why not bring someone to this location that would actually be central to the mission of the university (with all due respect to career services, I don’t think of what they do as central to our institution—they are a legitimate service—but not vital). I look forward to hearing from you. Peace Haji From: Hensrud,Faith C Sent: Wednesday, January 22, 2014 1:28 PM To: Dokhanchi,Khalil Subject: RE: relocation of the IT help desk Haji, Thanks for our thoughts. I will be sending out an announcement this week that explains the rationale for any decisions. That will help to clarify things. Faith Faith C. Hensrud Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs University of Wisconsin-Superior Superior, WI 54880 715-394-8449 From: Dokhanchi,Khalil Sent: Wednesday, January 22, 2014 1:23 PM To: Hensrud,Faith C Subject: relocation of the IT help desk Hi Faith: I have heard rumors that the IT help desk at the first floor of the Swenson Hall is moving. I am not sure but I don’t think anyone told the faculty about this. I really like the location of the IT help desk and they have been very instrumental in terms of helping with my classes. I also heard something about moving admissions office and the career center. For all that’s worth, I am not sure having the career center at the entry of Swenson is going to help anything. This is a central location and the IT help desk is as central as you can get for a building dedicated to teaching.
