Why can’t I upload my video file to the Dropbox?

The Dropbox doesn't have a restriction on file size, but the video file might be too large for your internet connection to upload all at once. You might need to compress the file to a smaller file size. If that doesn't work, you might need to break the video down into smaller sections. If the video needs to be a higher quality, you might need to find an alternative method to get it to your instructor.

When uploading large video files, one thing to think about is when your instructor views the video, are they going to have an internet connection that will allow them to download the file to their computer without stalling out or losing the connection?

If the video is one you have created (not copyrighted) and is a smaller file size, you could try using the Kaltura My Media area to upload and then embed the video when you submit it to the Dropbox. Note: Because of the way the Dropbox works, you will still need to submit some kind of file to the Dropbox Folder even if you are embedding the video in the Comments section. If you receive an error message while uploading a video file, write the message down and contact the Technology Helpdesk at 715-394-8300 for assistance.
