Why did the formatting (bold, highlighting, lists, etc.) within the document change after I uploaded a Word file?

The Learn@UWSuperior system uses the Document Viewer feature when displaying Word documents, it’s not the true word file that will be displayed.  We recommend converting any Word files into PDFs and uploading those instead.  PDFs are like a snapshot of the document and will keep the formatting even when viewed through Learn@UWSuperior.  One of the options when saving a file in Word is to Save as Adobe PDF, this will convert your Word document into a PDF. The problem might also be the browser you are using when you view or download the document.

If the ePortfolio Presentation reviewer says that they’ve downloaded your Word documents and they are still not able to view all of the information, it could be that they have a different version of Word on their computer.
