First Nations Center would like to congratulate Alex Gokee who received the Native American Scholarship

Alex was awarded the 2013 Native American Scholarship — with Luke, Alex Gokee, Gary Johnson and Jeremiah Johnson at Nemadji Golf Course.

First Nations Center would like to congratulate Alex Gokee who received the Native American Scholarship award at the 2013 Johnson Open on July 19, 2013.

The First Nations Center held another successful Johnson Open Golf Tournament at Nemadji Golf Course in Superior, WI. We had approximately 70 participants and raised close to $3,000 for the Native American Scholarship Fund.

This year's Native American Scholarship recipient is Alex Gokee is a senior at UW-Superior and Red Cliff Band member, has been very active in campus life. He has been involved in athletics, intramurals, officiating, and the UWS Barbeque Club and held a leadership position in the Circle of Native Nations student organization. In October 2013, Alex will attend the National Indian Education Association's annual conference co-presenting with Gary Johnson on a Native model for Health and Wellness.
