Assistant Professor, Math Education (Department of Educational Leadership)


The Educational Leadership Department at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, invited applications for the position of Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Math Education beginning in August 25, 2014.


  • Teach 12 credits per semester. A portion of the semester credits may be allocated to the supervision of student teachers
  • Teach Elementary and Secondary Math Methods courses and Teacher Education courses on campus and online
  • Supervise student teachers
  • Advise Teacher Education students
  • Participate in program development and oversight of the Math Major for Secondary Education and Math Minor for Elementary Education
  • Serve as a member of the Teacher Education Advisory Council (TEAC) and Educational Programs Advisory Committee (EPAC)
  • Serve as a liaison with the Mathematics and Computer Science; academic home of the Math Major.
  • Collaborate with local educational institutions and programs
  • Engage in scholarship in field(s) of academic expertise
  • Engage in departmental, university, and community service


  • Master's Degree in Math Education with a Doctorate earned by January 1 ,2015 in education or related field with emphasis in Math Education for reappointment to Fall semester 2015.
  • Minimum three years of experience as a Math teacher in K-12 education with preference at the secondary level
  • Previous University level teaching experience desired
  • Experience in utilizing technology in the classroom and/or online strongly preferred
  • Teaching and learning online experience
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the highest ethical standards and equitable inclusion of a wide diversity of students.
