Assistant Professor, Psychology (Department of Human Behavior, Justice and Diversity)


Assistant Professor, Psychology

Applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Psychology to teach Research Methods, Introduction to Psychology, and additional courses in their discipline, to begin August 2014. Possible sub-disciplines include cross-cultural/multicultural, LGBTQ, or environmental psychology but open to all areas.

Psychology is an undergraduate program at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, Wisconsin's public liberal arts college. Teaching and research interests with a strong commitment to undergraduate education are essential. We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds.


Teach 12 credits per semester, pursue scholarly activities, advise students, and serve on Department and University committees.


  • Ph.D. in Psychology. An ABD in Psychology will be considered with an earned doctorate required by January 12th, 2015, for reappointment to Fall Semester, 2015.


  • University level teaching experience preferred.

The successful candidate will be dynamic, energetic, creative, and engaging. The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to the public liberal arts mission and to quality teaching and learning methods. Willingness and interest in utilizing technology in the classroom strongly preferred.The successful candidate must be committed to the highest ethical standards and demonstrate effective leadership and teamwork skills. Candidates that incorporate issues of inclusive excellence and diversity within their curriculum are especially encouraged to apply.
