Both Financial Specialist 3 positions report to the Controller and are responsible for performing, under general supervision, various accounts payable, travel, and accounting related duties as outlined below.These positions further require the incumbent to assume responsibility for modules in the PeopleSoft Shared Financial System. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internet usage.

Position Description


Knowledge of accounting principles, State regulations, and University policies and procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with PeopleSoft Shared Financial System, Microsoft Office Suite, Common Spot software, QuickBooks, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and the internet. Ability to deal with customers, vendors, staff, students, and the general public in a positive manner. Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and organize tasks, ability to work well under pressure. Minimum 2 year associate degree in accounting or business, or 2 years professional experience working in an accounts payable, accounting, or related position.

Both positions are in pay range 02-12 with a starting salary of $34,100 plus excellent benefits. This is an FLSA non-exempt, non-represented position (not represented by a bargaining agreement). A six month probationary period may be required. For fringe benefit eligibility and information visit
