University of Wisconsin-Superior
Information and Instructional Technology Plan
The 2007-2008 Information and Instructional Technology Services (IITS) Plan consists of technology projects planned for the upcoming academic year and issues that address long term technology needs andinvolve action in the upcoming academic year. The purpose of planning is to involve campus in allocating technology resources and to raise the visibility of technology projects. The projects are submitted by the campus community and IITS Staff and are refined and prioritized by the University Technology Committee (UTC). A project is defined as an investment of people or resources totaling $2000 which is approximately .1% of the annual technology budget. Projects should have specific annual outcomes although they can span multiple years. Each project is sponsored by one or more of the IITS Units including Computing & Media Services (C&MS), the Library, Network & Programming Services (N&PS) and Residence Life Networking (ResNet).
Projects are grouped by goals that support the Campus Strategic Plan including user development, new academic building plans, infrastructure, funding, access, security, teamwork and System-wide initiatives. The plan supports campus Liberal Arts mission. Students, faculty and staff should be able to use technology to advance the University's mission: fostering intellectual growth in the liberal arts tradition. The technology environment will be accessible, reliable, convenient and secure for the purpose of enhancing teaching, learning and research.
