UW-Superior ranked top online school in Wisconsin
Affordable Colleges Online honors UW-Superior for online program
The University of Wisconsin-Superior was recently named the Best Online College in Wisconsin for 2015-16 by Affordable Colleges Online.
“This ranking is a public declaration of what we at UW-Superior have known for a while,” said Karen Heikel, executive director of Alternative Delivery and Outreach at UW-Superior. “We offer a high quality and affordable educational option for students who are interested in pursuing their education online.”
Affordable Colleges Online cited that UW-Superior offers online college classes for associate, bachelors and graduate degrees. The university also received high marks for its 16-to-1 student-teacher radio, financial aid and low cost, leading to a top score of 99.55. UW-Superior offers nearly 30 undergraduate courses and two master’s degree programs completely online.
“Our online students are taught by our own faculty and well qualified adjuncts,” said Heikel. “Whether they live across the street or across the county they have no chance of getting ‘lost’ in the process due to our small class size, specialized advising and other exemplary student services.”
In its assessment of UW-Superior, Affordable Colleges Online stated that “You will be able to get assistance in acquiring financial aid and will be appointed a student and profession advisor so that you will have the greatest chance of success.”
According to its website, Affordable Colleges Online began in 2012 to help students and parents identify colleges, degree programs, scholarship opportunities and more that fit their respective academic and financial wants and needs.
“A quality and personalized education can be offered by a small public institution that contains all of the services advertised by much more costly for profit institutions, at a fraction of the price,” said Heikel. “As part of the University of Wisconsin system, we take pride in the history and quality of our brand. Our graduates, whether on campus or online, move on to successful careers in serving many facets of society.”
